How to Generate LinkedIn Post Ideas From Industry News
Use AGNURA’s Generate Post wizard on LinkedIn: pick Industry news, select industries, check RSS headlines and sources, generate ideas, draft, insert, and publish yourself.
You will be able to turn industry news headlines into LinkedIn post ideas, check the sources, draft a post in LinkedIn’s create-post UI, and publish it yourself.
AGNURA AI Assistant opens a Generate Post wizard when LinkedIn’s create-post popup is open. For the Industry news lane it fetches public RSS/Atom titles for industries you select, helps you pick an idea, then can draft post copy with AGNURA managed AI (credits). It does not auto-publish. It does not promise reach or engagement.

Prerequisites
- Desktop Chrome, signed into LinkedIn in the same profile as AGNURA
- AGNURA installed; Activate LinkedIn on
- Signed in to AGNURA with AI credits remaining
- Non-empty LinkedIn post ideas and post content prompts (Settings → LinkedIn Prompts; defaults are seeded)
- At least one industry available under Settings → News Sources (starters ship for first use; you can add, disable, or delete feeds)
- LinkedIn create-post popup open (not only the closed feed row with Video / Photo / Write article)
Refresh LinkedIn after changing Activate LinkedIn if Generate Post does not appear.
Direct answer
- Open LinkedIn’s create-post popup.
- Click Generate Post.
- Choose Industry news → pick up to 3 industries → set how the post should feel.
- Review live RSS headlines (use Source links), then generate/pick an idea.
- Generate the post, edit for truth, Insert into LinkedIn, publish yourself.
Exact steps
1. Open the create-post composer
- Start a new LinkedIn post so the create-post popup is open.
- In the share box footer, find Generate Post and Rewrite Post side by side.
These buttons do not appear on the closed feed composer row. Open the full create-post popup first.
2. Start the wizard and choose Industry news
- Click Generate Post.
- Step 1: Where should ideas come from? → choose Industry news.
Other lanes (Knowledge base only, Personal story, React to one article) are valid, but this guide owns the news path.
Wizard answers are saved locally and restored next time (wat:post-generation-criteria:v1).
3. Pick industries (Step 2)
- Select up to 3 industries (checkboxes).
- Continue.
Industry news needs at least one industry selected. Feeds resolve from the built-in catalog plus any custom feeds you manage under Settings → News Sources → Manage Feeds.
4. Set how the post should feel (Step 3)
Choose audience / format / tone / time window. Defaults are typically Prospects, How-to, Direct, and a short recent window (for example 7 days).
Advanced options can hold must-include, avoid, creativity, and idea/content prompt overrides for this run.
5. Check headlines and pick an idea (Step 4)
For Industry news, this step uses live RSS/Atom titles for your selection (with local title-cache behavior).
- Scroll the headline list.
- Open Source links when you need to verify the story.
- Generate ideas when prompted (uses your post ideas prompt + inspiration headlines via AGNURA managed AI (credits)).
- Pick one idea you can defend.
| Source check | Pass rule |
|---|---|
| Headline | Matches a real feed item you can open |
| Claim in the idea | Supported by the article, not invented |
| Time window | Recent enough for your audience |
| Fit | Relevant to what you actually know |
Do not post “news” you have not checked. RSS titles can be incomplete or clickbaity.
6. Draft the post (Step 5)
- Optional: fill What’s on your mind?
- Click Generate Post. When an article URL is available, AGNURA may fetch it and draft a useful insight in LinkedIn voice using your content prompt, selected idea, optional thoughts, and optional knowledge base.
- Edit hard: cut fake stats, soft-sell spam, and anything you would not say on a call.
- Click Insert or Copy.
- Review inside LinkedIn’s editor.
- You click LinkedIn’s Post control.
Insert is manual. AGNURA does not auto-publish.
7. Optional: Rewrite Post later
If you already have draft text in the create-post box:
- Click Rewrite Post.
- Rewrite uses the shared rewrite prompt + draft (optional What I want to say).
- No ideas, RSS, or knowledge base on rewrite.
- Insert manually.
Manage News Sources (when feeds are wrong or empty)
- Open AGNURA → Settings → News Sources.
- Review industries.
- Use Manage Feeds for that industry to enable, disable, edit custom feeds, or delete (including removing starters you do not want).
Custom RSS URLs you add are fetched from your browser when the wizard needs them. Nothing is sent to an AGNURA backend for feed hosting.
What success looks like
| Check | Expected |
|---|---|
| Buttons | Generate Post on create-post popup |
| Lane | Industry news with ≥1 industry |
| Ideas | Tied to headlines you can open via Source |
| Draft | Edited for accuracy before Insert |
| Publish | You click Post in LinkedIn |
Common failures and fixes
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| No Generate Post button | Open the create-post popup, not the closed feed row; Activate LinkedIn; refresh |
| No industries / empty headlines | Configure News Sources; pick industries; try Refresh titles / regenerate ideas |
| Generate Ideas fails | Sign in with credits; save non-empty post ideas prompt |
| Post draft fails | Select an idea; save non-empty post content prompt |
| Idea invents a story | Open the Source; rewrite or pick another headline |
| Want polish only | Use Rewrite Post on your draft |
When to escalate to human judgment
- The story is contested, legal, or medical
- You would need confidential client detail to comment
- The headline is sensational and you cannot verify the article
- Your brand rules require legal or PR review before posting news reactions
In those cases, skip the post or write fully manually after reading the source.
How AGNURA helps this job
| Need | With AGNURA |
|---|---|
| Industry RSS headlines in-flow | Industry news lane + News Sources catalog |
| Idea list from real titles | Generate Ideas with inspiration headlines |
| Draft in LinkedIn voice | Generate Post content step |
| Stay in control | Manual Insert; you publish |
Compared with common alternatives
| Approach | Trade-off |
|---|---|
| Manual RSS + notes | Highest control; slower |
| Chatbot with pasted headlines | Works; more context loss |
| Auto-post schedulers | Volume; not AGNURA’s job |
| AGNURA Generate Post (news) | Same-tab wizard + source checks before you post |
Privacy note: RSS fetches go to the feed hosts you use. Idea/content generation sends prompts, criteria, headlines, and related context to AGNURA managed AI (credits). See AGNURA Privacy in Plain Language and Local Settings vs Local AI: The Privacy Difference.
