How to Write a LinkedIn Comment That Adds Something New
Draft a LinkedIn feed comment with AGNURA using the post and visible comments, add a real point (not engagement bait), review, insert manually, and post yourself.
You will be able to write a LinkedIn feed comment that adds something new: a clear point tied to the post (and visible comments), not a hollow “Great post!” or engagement-bait line.
AGNURA AI Assistant can open Write a Reply from the feed comment box, load post and comment context (best-effort), call managed AI with your comment prompt, then wait for Insert into comment. It never posts the comment for you.

Prerequisites
- Desktop Chrome, signed into LinkedIn in the same profile as AGNURA
- AGNURA installed; Activate LinkedIn on
- Signed in to AGNURA with AI credits remaining
- Non-empty LinkedIn post comment prompt (Settings → LinkedIn Prompts)
- Optional: Knowledge base in General settings
- A LinkedIn post with the Add a comment… box open
Refresh LinkedIn after changing Activate LinkedIn if the AGNURA AI icon does not appear.
Direct answer
- Open the post and click into Add a comment….
- Scroll so useful comments are visible if you want that context.
- Open AGNURA AI → Write a Reply.
- Confirm Post and Comments fields; optional What I want to say.
- Generate, edit until the comment adds a real point, then Insert.
- You click Comment / Post in LinkedIn.
Exact steps
1. Decide what “new” means for this post
Before any AI click, pick one contribution type:
| Useful addition | Weak / bait |
|---|---|
| A concrete example from your work (true) | “So true!” with no point |
| A clarifying question the post raises | “Agree 🔥” only |
| A polite disagreement with a reason | “Commenting for reach” |
| A missing caveat or edge case | Tagging people with no context |
| A short tip that builds on their idea | Soft-selling your product in the first line |
If you cannot name the addition in one sentence, do not generate yet.
2. Open the feed comment box
- Open the LinkedIn post (feed or post page).
- Click Add a comment… so the comment editor is active.
- Confirm the AGNURA AI icon appears immediately before the emoji picker.
3. Load context on purpose
- Click AGNURA AI → Write a Reply.
- Wait for the modal fields.
| Field | Role |
|---|---|
| Comment prompt | Standing instructions from LinkedIn Prompts. Edit for this run if needed. |
| Post | Post text/context scraped for this card (best-effort). |
| Comments | Visible comments included when available. Scroll the thread first if you want more of the discussion in the DOM. |
| What I want to say | Optional one-run note (not saved). Put your “new point” here. |
Requirements: AGNURA credits, non-empty comment prompt, and post and/or comments context.
AGNURA may reload the last generated reply for this post from local storage (up to 50 posts). Still review before insert.
Nothing is sent to managed AI until you click Generate.
4. Generate, then cut bait
- Fill What I want to say with your real point when you have one.
- Click Generate.
- Edit the draft with this pass:
| Keep | Cut |
|---|---|
| One specific idea | Empty praise |
| Reference to something in the post | Fake “I also…” stories |
| Short, readable sentences | Pitch decks and links dumped without ask |
| Respectful disagreement | Engagement farming phrases |
Your prompt can say: add one new insight, avoid generic praise, do not invent experience. The model still needs your edit.
5. Insert and post yourself
- Click Insert into comment (writes into the TipTap comment editor) or Copy.
- Read the comment in LinkedIn once more.
- You click LinkedIn’s comment/submit control.
AGNURA does not auto-comment.
6. Optional polish path
If you already typed a draft:
- AGNURA AI → Rewrite Reply.
- Rewrite uses rewrite prompt + draft only (no post/comments/KB).
- Insert manually.
Use rewrite to clarify wording, not to invent a new insight the draft never had.
Voice to Text is also in the menu if you prefer to dictate into the comment box (no managed AI call).
What success looks like
| Check | Expected |
|---|---|
| Icon | AGNURA AI on the open comment box |
| Context | Post and/or comments present in the modal |
| Comment quality | Adds a point a stranger could learn from |
| Control | You insert; you submit in LinkedIn |
Common failures and fixes
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| No AGNURA AI icon | Open the comment box; Activate LinkedIn; refresh |
| Generate fails | Save key/model; save comment prompt; confirm post/comments context |
| Thin comments field | Scroll the discussion so more comments load; reopen Write a Reply |
| Draft is generic praise | Put a real point in What I want to say; tighten the comment prompt; edit hard |
| Draft pitches too hard | Cut the CTA or move it to a softer close only when relevant |
| Want wording only | Use Rewrite Reply on your own draft |
When to escalate to human judgment
- The post is about a sensitive topic (grief, politics, harassment)
- You disagree strongly and tone risk is high
- You would need private client details to “add value”
- You are tempted to fake expertise
In those cases, write manually or skip the comment.
How AGNURA helps this job
| Need | With AGNURA |
|---|---|

| Steer one useful angle | What I want to say |
| Keep standing facts handy | Optional knowledge base |
| Stay human-controlled | Manual Insert; you post |
Compared with common alternatives
| Approach | Trade-off |
|---|---|
| Manual comment only | Highest judgment; slower |
| Copy post into a chatbot tab | Works; more paste friction |
