AGNURA Not Showing or Not Generating: Troubleshooting

Your goal is to get AGNURA showing again on the page you need, or to get Generate / Rewrite working with a clear draft you can review.

Start with the matching section below. Most “not showing” issues are activation toggles, the wrong kind of page, or a host UI that needs a tab reload. Most “not generating” issues are sign-in, credits, empty prompts, or missing context.

Prerequisites

• AGNURA installed and enabled on chrome://extensions
• The site tab you care about focused (Gmail, LinkedIn, WhatsApp Web, Reddit, or a normal http(s) site)
• For AI generate/rewrite: an AGNURA sign-in with credits remaining
• Willingness to reload the site tab after changing Activate toggles

Extension not visible

1. Open chrome://extensions.
2. Confirm AGNURA AI Assistant is present and enabled.
3. Open the puzzle-piece Extensions menu and pin AGNURA.
4. If the name still looks like AppiFire, update from the store or reinstall (same item id). See AGNURA Changelog.
5. If install is blocked on a work profile, try a clean personal profile (install guide).

Popup and website analysis

“No active tab” or empty domain

Open a normal browser tab first, then click the AGNURA icon. Do not rely on the popup when Chrome has no usable active tab.

Analysis fails or looks empty

Check	Action
URL type	Use http or https. Avoid chrome://, the Chrome Web Store, and many PDF-only viewers.
Injection	Reload the webpage, then reopen the popup.
Timeout	On a hung page, reload and try a simpler public site to confirm the extension works.
Contacts missing	Open the contact/about page in the tab and analyze again; use popup reload so you are not reading a one-hour cache.

Channel menus not showing

AGNURA injects compose helpers only when the matching Activate toggle is on and the content script can find the host UI.

Shared checklist (all channels)

1. Open Settings → General.
2. Turn on Activate Gmail, Activate LinkedIn, Activate WhatsApp, and/or Activate Reddit as needed.
3. Click Save.
4. Hard-refresh the site tab (or close and reopen it).
5. Confirm you are on the expected URL and in a compose / comment surface (not a blank landing state).

Host sites redesign often. If a menu disappears after a UI change, refresh the tab, confirm Activate is on, and update AGNURA from the store. DOM selector drift is a known limit until a new extension build ships.

Gmail

1. Be signed into Gmail in the same Chrome profile as the extension.
2. Open compose (full page or inline).
3. Look for the AGNURA AI control near the compose toolbar (before More options).
4. If the icon exists but the menu will not open, close and reopen compose (Gmail remounts the DOM often).

LinkedIn

1. Use messaging compose, a feed comment box, an invite note field, or the create-post popup depending on the action you want.
2. Generate Post / Rewrite Post appear in the create-post composer, not only on the closed feed composer row.
3. For Write Reply, confirm profile and/or thread context can load (best-effort).

WhatsApp Web

1. Use https://web.whatsapp.com with a chat open and the compose box visible.
2. Hard-refresh after enabling Activate WhatsApp.
3. Write Reply needs conversation history in the DOM; empty chats cannot generate useful replies.

Reddit

1. Confirm Activate Reddit is on, then reload Reddit.
2. Comments: open a post with a comment composer visible.
3. Submit post: use /submit for Rewrite Post / Voice to Text on the post form.
4. Scroll so comments are mounted before Write a Reply if you want comment context.

Not generating

Use this when the menu shows, but Generate / Rewrite fails, stays empty, or errors.

1. Sign-in and credits

1. Open Settings → General.
2. Confirm a key is saved (masked field after Save is normal).
3. If you see 401, sign in again from the popup. If 402 / no credits, open app.agnura.com/billing.
4. If you see model access errors, switch to GPT-4.1 mini or GPT-4o mini, Save, and retry.

2. Prompts

Any Rewrite	Settings → Rewrite Prompt (shared)

Defaults are usually seeded. An empty custom wipe can hide Generate AI Email or break a rewrite run.

4. Rate limits, timeouts, parse errors

• 429 / rate limit: wait and retry; shorten prompts or context when possible.
• Timeout: retry; large pages are capped, but slow networks still fail.
• Could not parse response: click Generate/Rewrite again; simplify the prompt if it keeps failing.

Remember: a successful generate still requires you to insert and send. AGNURA does not auto-send.

Voice and speak

Voice to Text

1. Use desktop Chrome.
2. Allow the microphone for that website when prompted (Gmail, LinkedIn, WhatsApp Web, or Reddit).
3. Click Voice to Text, speak, then Stop.
4. If nothing inserts, check the site padlock → Site settings for a blocked mic.

Voice to Text does not use your AGNURA credits.

Speak selected text

1. Enable Speak selected text in Settings → General and Save (off by default).
2. Use an active http(s) tab.
3. Highlight ordinary text (not a password field) and use the Speak control.

Cache and reload

Symptom	Fix
Analysis looks outdated	Popup header reload (clears the ~1 hour tab cache and origin sitemap snapshot, then runs live)
AI email missing page details	Live reload so pageTextExcerpt is fresh
Channel UI missing after toggle change	Reload the site tab
Extension update just installed	Reload the extension card on chrome://extensions, then refresh the site tab

• Company policies that block the Chrome Web Store or this extension id
• Permanent breakage after a major host redesign until AGNURA ships selector updates
• Stripe/Pro billing or credit exhaustion on app.agnura.com
• Expectations of auto-send, unlimited free AI, or guaranteed reply rates
