Apollo Company Capture to CSV: Workflow and Limits
How to scrape visible Apollo.io company rows into AGNURA local storage, export CSV, and work within DOM-only limits: scroll first, no API, no pagination automation.
Your job is to copy company rows you can already see on an Apollo.io list into a local CSV on your machine.
AGNURA AI Assistant can read the Apollo table DOM in the active tab when you click Get Apollo Data, store new domains in Chrome local storage, and Download CSV. It does not call the Apollo API, auto-scroll the grid, or paginate for you.
This sits inside website intelligence as list capture, not enrichment. For the broader research definition, see What Is Website Intelligence for Sales and Outreach?.
Prerequisites
- Desktop Chrome with AGNURA installed
- An Apollo.io account and an open company list in the browser (for example on
app.apollo.io) - Willingness to scroll so the rows you care about are mounted in the page
- A place to store the CSV under your company’s data policy
No AGNURA sign-in is required. Apollo capture does not use managed AI credits.
Direct answer
- Open the Apollo company list in the active tab.
- Scroll so every row you want is loaded in the grid.
- Open AGNURA → Get Apollo Data.
- Click Get Apollo Data on the Apollo view to scrape.
- Click Download CSV to export everything stored so far.
- Repeat on the next Apollo page if you need more rows (manual pagination).
Exact steps
1. Open the right Apollo tab
Focus a tab whose host is apollo.io or *.apollo.io with a company list table visible.
The AGNURA header control for Apollo is enabled only on those hosts. Off Apollo, use normal website analysis instead.
2. Scroll before you scrape
Apollo lists are often virtualized. Only rows currently mounted in the DOM are readable.
- Scroll through the portion of the list you want.
- Do not expect AGNURA to auto-scroll or load the next page for you.
- If you scrape too early, you only capture the visible slice.
3. Open AGNURA’s Apollo view
- Click the AGNURA icon.
- Click header Get Apollo Data (it appears before Send Email when the active tab is Apollo).
- Read the on-screen hint and the count of companies already stored locally.
Opening the view does not scrape yet. Scraping starts only when you click Get Apollo Data inside that view.
4. Scrape visible rows
Click Get Apollo Data.
AGNURA injects a helper into the Apollo tab, reads company table rows, and merges new domains into chrome.storage.local.
Status typically shows how many domains were saved vs skipped (already stored).
5. Download CSV
Click Download CSV on the Apollo view.
| Detail | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Scope | All companies in local storage, not only the last scrape |
| Filename | apollo-companies-YYYY-MM-DD.csv (local date) |
| Empty store | Download may still run with a “nothing to export yet” style status until you scrape |
6. Capture another page (manual)
To get more companies:
- Move to the next page in Apollo yourself.
- Scroll that page’s visible rows.
- Scrape again.
- Download CSV when you want a full backup of the accumulated store.
What fields are captured
Per row, when present in the grid:
| CSV / store field | Source idea |
|---|---|
domain | Normalized website hostname (storage key; www. stripped) |
name | Account / company name |
website | Website link |
linkedin | LinkedIn link when shown |
employees | Employee count column |
industries | Industry chips |
keywords | Keyword chips (joined) |
location | Location column |
score | Score column when present |
scrapedAt | When AGNURA saved the row |
sourceUrl | Apollo tab URL at scrape time |
Rows without a valid website URL are skipped (no stable domain key). Custom Apollo columns are not captured in the current product.
Storage and merge rules
| Rule | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Local only | Data lives in chrome.storage.local (wat:apollo-companies:v1) on your Chrome profile |
| Keyed by domain | One record per normalized domain |
| Skip existing | Re-scrape does not refresh domains already saved |
| No TTL | Rows persist until you clear this extension’s data (no in-app “Clear Apollo” button today) |
| Separate from analysis | Apollo store does not change website analysis results |
Clearing extension data is the reset path if you need a full refresh of stale rows.
What success looks like
| Check | Expected |
|---|---|
| Host | Active tab is Apollo |
| Scroll | Rows you wanted were visible before scrape |
| Status | New domains saved; duplicates skipped |
| CSV | File opens with the columns above |
| Privacy | File stays where you downloaded it; AGNURA did not upload the list to an AGNURA server |
Limits (read before you rely on this)
AGNURA Apollo capture does not:
- Call Apollo’s API
- Auto-scroll virtualized lists
- Automate pagination
- Update domains already stored
- Sync across devices or teammates
- Guarantee private/locked Apollo fields appear in the DOM
- Survive an Apollo UI redesign without selector updates
Handle exported CSVs under the same policies you use for prospect lists. Business identifiers and social URLs can be sensitive.
Common problems
| Problem | What to try |
|---|---|
| Get Apollo Data disabled | Focus an apollo.io tab with a company list |
| Zero rows saved | Scroll the grid so rows mount; confirm website links exist on rows |
| Counts look low | You only scraped the visible page; paginate manually and scrape again |
| Stale company data | Skip-existing is working; clear extension storage to reset |
| CSV empty message | Scrape at least one successful batch first |

How AGNURA helps this workflow
| Need | With AGNURA |
|---|---|
| Capture visible Apollo rows | On-demand DOM scrape into local storage |
| Accumulate across sessions | Domain-keyed local store |
| Hand off to sheets/CRM | Download CSV of the full store |
| Avoid extra API keys | No Apollo API and no managed AI required for this feature |
Compared with common alternatives
| Approach | Trade-off |
|---|---|
| Manual copy/paste | Slow; easy to miss columns |
| Apollo’s own export tools | Use when you need Apollo’s official export path and entitlements |
| Enrichment APIs | Different job; not what this DOM capture is |
| AGNURA visible-row capture | Fast local CSV from what you already loaded; strict DOM limits |
