How to Personalize an Outreach Email From Website Research
Personalize outreach using only verified website facts: research, pick one true hook, draft with templates or Generate AI Email, then cut invented details before Gmail send.
You will be able to write a personalized outreach email that uses only facts you can verify on the prospect’s website (or other public pages you opened).
AGNURA AI Assistant can collect analysis on the active tab, fill template placeholders from that analysis, and optionally run Generate AI Email with AGNURA managed AI (credits). It does not invent safe personalization for you. You still cut anything you cannot defend.
Hub context: Research-to-Email Outreach: From Website Context to a Reviewed Gmail Draft. Research steps: How to Research a Prospect’s Website Before Writing an Email.
Prerequisites
- Prospect site open in desktop Chrome
- AGNURA installed; analysis runnable on the tab
- At least one email template (seeded default is fine)
- A public email detected on the site if you want Send Email enabled
- Optional: AGNURA sign-in + email template prompt for Generate AI Email
- Willingness to delete AI lines that are not on the page
Direct answer
- Research and verify 1–3 facts on the site.
- Pick one hook you can cite.
- Draft with a template and/or Generate AI Email.
- Edit until every personal detail is verified.
- Open in Gmail, review To/Subject/Body, send yourself.
Exact steps
1. Finish research before you personalize
Do not start with a blank “clever” opener.
- Open the most relevant public page.
- Run AGNURA analysis (or take notes).
- Verify contacts and any claim you plan to mention.
If you skip verification, personalization becomes fiction.
2. Choose one true hook
Good hooks are short and checkable:
| Hook type | Example (only if true on the page) | Weak / invented |
|---|---|---|
| Offer | “Your homepage focuses on X for Y buyers” | “Saw you just raised a round” (no source) |
| Product/catalog clue | “Looks like you list products on Shopify” (if platform signal matches what you see) | Claiming a theme name you did not confirm |
| Public proof | “The case study on /customers mentions Z” | Fake mutual connections |
| Contact path | Writing to a published role inbox you found on /contact | Guessed personal Gmail |
Write one sentence you could defend if they asked, “Where did you see that?”
3. Draft path A: template + placeholders
- Click Send Email when it is enabled (detected email + template).
- Choose To and a Template.
- Let AGNURA substitute
{{placeholders}}from the current analysis. - Edit the filled draft. Remove rows that are empty, wrong, or irrelevant.
Placeholders available in the product today include:
{{domain}}, {{store_name}}, {{tabUrl}}, {{pageTitle}}, {{metaDescription}}, {{platform}}, {{platformConfidence}}, {{theme}}, {{products}}, {{pages}}, {{chat}}, {{chatVendors}}, {{marketingVendors}}, {{socialLinks}}, {{contactEmails}}, {{contactPhones}}, {{structuredBusiness}}, {{launchedApprox}}, {{support}}
Treat every substituted value as a hint. Platform confidence, sitemap page counts, chat vendors, and support score are heuristics. Do not paste them into the email unless you verified the underlying idea on the site.
4. Draft path B: Generate AI Email
Use this when you want a first-pass subject and body from site context.
- Sign in and check credits under Settings → General.
- Save a non-empty email template prompt under Settings → Email Prompts.
- Run a fresh analysis on the prospect tab (reload if the snapshot may be stale or missing a page excerpt).
- Send Email → Generate AI Email.
- Read the draft like a skeptic.
What managed AI receives (plain text, no HTML, via app.agnura.com): structured analysis sections plus a page text excerpt when present. Your prompt should tell the model to use only provided context, stay short, and avoid inventing hires, funding, or personal compliments.
If a previous AI draft exists for this page URL, AGNURA may warn you and offer Load previous AI email or Generate new AI email. Still review before Open in Gmail.
5. Run the verification edit
Before Gmail:
| Check | Pass rule |
|---|---|
| Hook | Visible on a URL you can name |
| Product/offer lines | Match the page, not a stereotype |
| Platform/stack lines | Confirmed in the UI or source, not only a label |
| Numbers (pages, products, scores) | Usually cut unless you verified and they help the reader |
| Flattery | Specific and true, or delete |
| CTA | Clear and honest |
If the AI wrote something useful but unverified, rewrite it into a verified fact or remove it.
6. Open in Gmail and send yourself
- Confirm Subject is non-empty.
- Click Open in Gmail.
- Review To, From, links, and tone in Gmail.
- Click Send only when you would stand behind the message.
AGNURA does not send mail for you.
What success looks like
| Signal | Expected |
|---|---|
| Personalization | One clear, verifiable site-based hook |
| Draft source | Template and/or AI, then human edit |
| Honesty | No invented personal details |
| Send control | You pressed Send in Gmail |
Common failures and fixes
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| Send Email disabled | Need detected email + at least one template; finish analysis first |
| Generate AI Email missing | Sign in with credits and a non-empty email template prompt |
| Draft feels generic | Pick a stronger verified hook; tighten the prompt; regenerate; edit |
| Draft invents details | Cut them; instruct the prompt to use only provided analysis/excerpt |
| Stale or thin AI context | Reload analysis so the page excerpt and fields refresh |
| Too many analysis fields in the email | Delete filler; prospects care about the hook and the ask |
When to escalate to human judgment
- The only “email” is a shared inbox or noreply address
- The site is a thin park page with nothing true to cite
- Compliance or legal review is required for your industry
- You are tempted to invent urgency or social proof
In those cases, slow down or choose another contact path. Do not fake personalization.
How AGNURA helps this job
| Need | With AGNURA |
|---|---|
| Collect site signals fast | Active-tab analysis |
| Fill structured blanks | Template placeholders from analysis |
| First AI draft from context | Generate AI Email (credits + prompt) |
| Stay human-controlled | Open in Gmail; you send |
Compared with common alternatives
| Approach | Trade-off |
|---|---|
| Manual notes only | Highest control; slower |
| Chatbot in another tab | Easy to lose the exact page context |
| Enrichment “personalization” fields | May not match what the live site says |
| AGNURA analysis → draft helpers | Same-tab context, still needs your verify-and-cut pass |
